The E-3 visa: an opportunity for Australians to work in the U.S. in specialized occupations

The E-3 applies only to nationals of Australia, who are coming to the United States solely to perform services in a specialty occupation, which requires a bachelor’s degree. There must be a legitimate offer of employment and be filling a position that qualifies as a specialty occupation.

Similar to the H-1B petition, it requires the employer to file a labor condition application and be paying prevailing wage. It is initially good for two years, but there are no limitations on extensions and there is no cap.
