At Long Last: Rural EB-5 Approvals Are Coming In

If you were hesitant to apply for a Green Card through the EB-5 program due to long processing times, it might be time to rethink.

Back in March of 2022, the EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act of 2022 (RIA) gave applications for projects in rural areas priority processing, and we’re already starting to see the effects of these changes. In an unprecedented turn of events, the first Rural EB-5 approvals are coming in after only 11 months of processing time.

To demonstrate just how impressive this is, USCUS’s website estimates that 80% of I-526 applications are processed within 56.5 months. That means the RIA has cut down on these application times from almost 5 years to just under a year. This is particularly important for Chinese and Indian nationals, as they can take advantage of the set aside visas, cutting the average processing times to just under a year from 81 months.

What we’re seeing here is a clear sign that the changes made with the RIA are effective and efficient. We’re looking forward to seeing more approvals come in.
